HOW IT WORKS

From a part number to a component you can trust.

Sourcing an obsolete or hard-to-find component isn't a database lookup — it's a search, a verification, and a judgement call. Here's exactly what happens between your request and delivery.

THE PROCESS

Four stages, one point of contact.

01

Submit

Part number, BOM, or a rough description of what you need.

STAGE 01EMPORRA
02

Search & assess

We search our vetted network and assess what's found against your requirements.

STAGE 02EMPORRA
03

Verify

Every sourced component is checked for provenance and inspected by the supplying partner before it's offered to you.

STAGE 03EMPORRA
04

Deliver

You approve the sourcing plan. We consolidate, document, and deliver — one invoice, one counterparty.

STAGE 04EMPORRA
01 · SUBMIT

Tell us what you need — as much or as little as you know.

Some requests come with a full BOM and exact manufacturer part numbers. Others start with a description — "a 3.3V linear regulator, SOT-23, similar to this one, but the original is gone." Both are valid starting points.

01

Single part number

You know exactly what you need. Give us the MPN and quantity — we'll search from there.

02

Full BOM upload

Upload your bill of materials. We flag which lines are standard, which are at risk, and which are already obsolete.

03

Description only

No exact part number? Describe the function, package and specifications. Our technical assessment starts from there.

02 · SEARCH & ASSESS

We search where authorised distribution has already given up.

Once a component is end-of-life, it doesn't show up in a standard distributor search. It exists in specialist broker networks, OEM excess inventories, and independent distributors who track exactly this kind of stock. This is the part of the process that can't be automated — it takes judgement to know which source is credible for a given part.

What we check

  • Which of our vetted partners are likely to hold or locate this part
  • Whether the part is genuinely obsolete or just NRND (Not Recommended for New Designs, but still sourceable)
  • Realistic lead time and quantity available
  • Whether a form/fit/function substitute exists, if the original can't be located

What you receive

  • A clear sourcing status per line item — found, in progress, or substitute proposed
  • Honest flags when something can't be located, rather than silence
  • No speculative offers — we don't quote what we haven't assessed
03 · VERIFY

Every component is inspected before it reaches you.

This is where most of the real risk in EOL sourcing lives — and where we spend the most effort. Full detail on our verification process is on the Quality page; here's the short version as it fits into the sourcing timeline.

CHECK 01

Supplier already vetted before we transact with them (not per-order)

CHECK 02

Packaging, label, visual and date-code inspection at the supplying partner

CHECK 03

X-ray and electrical testing where warranted, with evidence attached to the shipment

04 · DELIVER

One approval, one delivery, one invoice.

Nothing is ordered on your behalf without your approval. Once you confirm the sourcing plan, we consolidate everything — even parts coming from multiple sourcing partners — into a single, documented delivery.

  • You approve pricing and sourcing plan before anything is ordered
  • Consolidated delivery, even when parts come from multiple partners
  • Full documentation: certificate of conformance, date codes, inspection evidence
  • One invoice from Emporra ApS — we remain the single commercial counterparty
WHAT TO EXPECT

Honest timelines, not generic promises.

We don't promise a fixed turnaround — an obsolete part with three credible sources moves faster than one with none. Here's what's consistent regardless of the component:

24H

Acknowledgement of every request

CLEAR

Sourcing status per line item — no silence, no vague delays

0

Speculative orders placed without your approval
