Obsolete and hard-to-find components travel through longer supply chains than authorised distribution. That's where counterfeit risk lives. Emporra mitigates it through three layers: a vetted supplier network, inspection and testing performed at the supplier, and a commercial guarantee that keeps the risk with us — not with you.
Vetted supplier network
Every source is assessed before we place business with them. We turn away more suppliers than we onboard.
Inspection at source
Our sourcing partners perform packaging, label, visual and — where warranted — X-ray and electrical testing before shipment.
Commercial guarantee
If a batch fails, the sourcing partner reimburses and Emporra re-sources or refunds. The risk stays with us.
Who we let into the network.
We source through European brokers who specialise in obsolete and allocation- constrained parts. Before we place a single order with a new supplier, they're assessed against the criteria on the right. Poor performance on a batch is enough to end the relationship.

Inspection performed by our sourcing partners.
Emporra does not operate an in-house test lab. Inspection and testing are performed by our sourcing partners, whose processes we vet as part of onboarding. Every shipment arrives with the inspection evidence attached.
Packaging & label verification
Manufacturer marks, batch and date codes, country of origin and MSL bag/desiccant condition — checked against the manufacturer's own specification for that part.
Detailed visual under magnification
Logo integrity, no re-marking or blacktopping, no unauthorised ink dots, no rework tool marks, no flux or chemical residue.
Lead & pin condition
No re-tinning, no oxidation or corrosion, finish consistent with the date code, coplanarity within specification.
BGA & LGA condition
Ball array inspected for reballing signs, no soldering traces, no signs of prior use on the underside of the package.
X-ray, decap and electrical test
Where the risk warrants it: X-ray of internal die and bond wires, decapsulation, and electrical parameter testing against the datasheet.
Counterfeit-risk flagging
Parts with known counterfeit exposure (older FPGAs, certain MCU families) trigger enhanced inspection before we ship.

We classify risk per line item. The higher the risk, the deeper the inspection — and the earlier we tell you if we recommend escalating.

If inspection uncovers a problem after delivery — counterfeit indicators, mismatched date codes, functional failure traceable to the batch — our sourcing partner reimburses, and Emporra either re-sources the part or refunds you.
This is the difference between a marketplace and a broker with a commercial contract. On a marketplace, the risk sits with the buyer. With Emporra, we're the counterparty — and that means the batch is our problem to fix, not yours.
